Second Consecutive Full Dismissal for LendingOne in Related Federal Action

In Trenice Reed and Kenneth Reed v. EK Real Estate Services of NY, LLC, et al., Case No. 4:21-CV-03713, pending in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, Buck Keenan partner Andrew Wright represented client LendingOne, LLC against claims alleging violations of the federal Truth in Lending Act (TILA) and the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA). The case arose from circumstances closely related to a companion matter in which Wright had already secured a full dismissal of all claims against LendingOne.

Building on his deep familiarity with the underlying facts, the applicable statutory framework, and the client’s business operations, Wright applied the same disciplined defense strategy across both actions. That institutional knowledge allowed him to move efficiently and decisively, without the learning curve or duplicated effort that a less experienced attorney would have faced.

The result mirrored the first: a full dismissal of all claims against LendingOne, with no liability. Across both cases, Wright protected the client from exposure on multiple fronts while managing the process with consistency and efficiency.

In complex commercial litigation, the ability to deliver the same decisive outcome across related matters is a direct product of preparation, focus, and a thorough understanding of both the law and the client’s long-term interests.
